Characters: OOC!Mokuba and NPC!Kafele
Rating: PG
Setting: Mokuba's head
Summary: Kafele comes over to visit Mokuba, who has a bit of a wet head thanks to all the drinking he's done and is still doing. They do a little talking about dancing and Mahaado.
Kafele entered that room with a trademark poof, but he added some tiny firecracker illusions for added effect.
Mokuba covered his eyes. He kept the room dark for a reason...even with his drinking leading up to New Years, it still didn't help. So now he was working on the drink more alcohol method to help. "It's not a good day for that, Kafele."
Kafele hovered over Mokuba, watching him.
"You can come in, if you want," Mokuba said quietly before taking a drink.
Kafele looked down at the drink and then back at Mokuba. He was a little unsure about that. But he went in anyway.
And found himself in a sea of alcohol and mixers. Mokuba was lounging there as well, drink in hand, as he floated around on an innertube. Another empty innertube floated nearby.
Kafele appeared pretty close to the ceiling, holding his purple robes out of the liquid. "You know, when I was a person, I can't believe I actually could convince myself to bathe after this kind of stuff."
"You couldn't bathe after drinking?" That's when Mokuba found it most important to take a bath, since even in the nicest bars things could get a little sticky. And, of course, there was the close dancing.
"No, I mean after being in Mahaado's soul when he flooded it." Kafele grumbled, floating in a curled-up ball. "He did it again the other day too. But it didn't reach the top of the tower, so at least I didn't get wet."
"Yeah, well, Mahaado's got issues. And you don't have to look like that in here, it's not so bad."
"You want me to sit on that floating donut thing?"
"Yeah." Mokuba used his hand to try and paddle toward it. "Looking at you up there is kinda making me feel a bit ill."
"Oh. All right..." he lowered himself to the innertube, perching on it precariously. "I can't believe you're just floating, though."
"Hmmm? Why's that?"
"Because!" he shouted. "You're flooding your soul! And it's wet and sticky. And is this really how you ring in the start of the next year?"
"Don't shout," Mokuba said, holding up a hand. "I was actually out dancing and drinking with people, so I rang in the new year that way. This is just the after effects."
"Mahaado spent the entire evening, night, morning, noon, afternoon, and evening again in a meditative trance. Said he felt he needed purification for the new year."
"I'm not the meditative type, you know. I have fun this way, and last night was fun. It shouldn't be that much of a surprise to you."
"No, guess not. If I was a person, I would have liked to try dancing. I don't think I ever got to do that."
"Does sound like it would suck having to be stuck in Mahaado's head all the time. I would have taken you out dancing and you would have loved it, obviously."
"I bet I would have. I don't think Mahaado's ever gone dancing."
Mokuba paddled over a little closer. "Can you take over his body?"
"If he let me, I bet I could. He'd fight me on it, though."
"Could you, I dunno, not ask? Just surprise him by it?"
"I could ask. But he'll say no. He doesn't just relinquish control. And it's not my place to take it. He expects a certain level of trust." Kafele insisted. "It's an odd partnership."
"And unfair partnership." Mokuba frowned, though he expected Kafele wouldn't do it. "You'll just have to watch me dance to get what it's like."
"Not in here." Kafele muttered.
"I could hear that."
"You dance in here, you're going to splash me."
"I mean dance at a club, with other people. I prefer dancing when I'm around a crowd."
"And it's a lot of fun?"
"Oh yeah, especially if you're with someone else who's really into it."
"I think that creepy Espa tried to take me to a club once. I poofed home."
That caught Mokuba by surprise. "Oh. Well good, you wouldn't want to dance with him."
"I figured that out real quick."
"Anyone else ask you to dance ever?"
"Other than him, no, not really."
"Okay." Mokuba didn't mind that response. "You weren't really around that long or anything, so it's not that surprising."
"I'll have to come watch you sometime, and then maybe I could try it."
"Dancing is kind of a physical thing."
"Oh. Maybe I could fake it."
"You can fake physical contact?"
"I can float. Can't I dance while floating?"
"Hmm...yeah, I guess you can move yourself around. You just can't get up close with anyone else."
"And to me, that's the best part of dancing."
"If it weren't going to get me wet, I'd ask you to show me right now."
"There's nothing wrong with getting wet."
"Not that kind of wet." Kafele hugged his knees on that little innertube.
"It's just like swimming...only with alcohol."
"No."
"Yes."
"I don't want to get wet."
"I guess I won't invite you over for a swim sometime then."
Kafele curled up a little more. "At least he didn't drown me this time."
"Mahaado? He probably keeps stuff stashed around his place. He might drink to much sometime, and drown you again. That wouldn't be so good."
"No. It wouldn't be good at all." Kafele nodded. "I should have done something. I mean, he was trying to figure out some tradition or something for Christmas that he could share with Delwyn, because she felt so sad trying to celebrate the first Yule after her family got slaughtered. He couldn't figure out a thing."
"It's not hard to figure out. People give gifts, that's pretty much it. I think I even told him that..."
"But Delwyn's holiday was all about coming together to survive the longest night of the year. It was all about family. I think Mahaado wanted to do something more than give some kind of potion or amulet or something."
"Uh, make dinner and then give gifts? I'd say have sex to make the night last longer, but he wouldn't take that suggestion."
"He tries to talk to her, but for a man that can recite spells in languages invented by gods, he can't ever think of something good to say."
Mokuba laughed for a moment before deciding he still didn't feel good enough for that. "I'm not surprised."
"But yeah, he wanted to do something special, ended up feeling depressed that he couldn't find anything special enough, decided to have one little drink... and her Christmas present is putting him to bed."
"He should deny himself being able to drink. Or, he should get rid of any alcohol in his house. I can help with that."
"Or, he could actually stop worrying so much that he can't find anything special enough for her and just admit he has feelings for her."
Kafele thought about that for a minute. "It'd be easier to make the alcohol disappear, wouldn't it."
"Yeah. Just tell me where it's all at and I'll take care of it."
"Mado hid the really strong stuff, and even Mahaado hasn't found it yet."
"Can't you do a spell that Mahaado wouldn't know about to lead me to it?"
"To the strong stufff? His Darkmoon Reserve? Oh, god, you really don't want that."
Mokuba shook his head. "Kafele, I'm only trying to help get rid of the stuff, to get it away from him. I'm not finding it to drink it."
"You'd better not. A few mugs of that, and I'm drenched!!"
"You could just pop out of my head if you're so unhappy, but I'm doing this for Mahaado. And you, so you don't drown."
"...I don't know where the darkmoon is, though. If I did, he would, remember? You'd have to ask Mado."
Mokuba did his best not to look scared. "Uh, no, I don't think so."
Kafele sighed a little. "Guess you don't have any ideas on how I can get him to just talk to her, huh."
"Lock them in a room together and somehow make it so Mahaado can't poof out?"
"Never thought of that..." Kafele pondered.
"They'd be forced to talk to each other, then, for something to do."
"Mahaado would probably spend all his time figuring out a way to despell it and get out of there, though."
"He'd talk to her about trying to escape?"
"Or you could say you'll imagine me and you having sex until Mahaado tells her that he likes her."
"I don't think that would help."
"Why not? He'd talk."
"At me, not at her."
"That's why I said he would have to tell her that he liked her. He'd want to make the images stop, which I don't completely get, but whatever."
Kafele sighed. "I should probably be getting back. Maybe I'll try that locked room thing, though."
"Kay. I should get another drink, too."
"Don't drown." Kafele added with a bit of disgust on his face. And he poofed away.
